About the museum | Am yr Amgueddfa

2015-6

Er mwyn hyrwyddo ei hamcanion, mae cymdeithas Hanes Llambed wedi creu amgueddfa hanes lleol ar gyfer Llanbedr Pont Steffan a’r cylch. Lleolir yr amgueddfa yn Hen Borthordy, campws Llanbedr Pont Steffan Prifysgol Cymru y Drindod Dewi Sant ac rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn i’r brifysgol am y caniatâd i ddefnyddio’r adeilad addas hwn. Er mwyn gwneud yr adeilad yn addas ar gyfer yr amgueddfa, derbyniodd y brifysgol nawdd gan ‘Cynnal y Cardi‘, prosiect Leader Axis 4 a ariennir gan Raglen Datblygu Gwledig Cymru 2007-2013. Ffynhonnell arian y cynllun hwn oedd Llywodraeth Cymru a Chronfa Amaethyddol Ewrop ar gyfer Datblygu Gwledig. Rydym yn ddiolchgar i Gynnal y Cardi am roi nawdd i’r brifysgol ac i’r brifysgol am eu cymorth gyda’r prosiect. Rydym hefyd yn ddiolchgar am gymorth staff Amgueddfa Ceredigion.

Bydd Man Gwybodaeth ar gyfer Ymwelwyr yn yr amgueddfa er mwyn hyrwyddo’r dref a’r cylch.

To further its objectives, Hanes Llambed has created a new local history museum for Lampeter and the surrounding area. It is housed in the Old Porters Lodge of the University of Wales, Trinity St. David, Lampeter Campus, and we are most grateful to the University for their generous agreement to use this very appropriate building. In order to make the interior suitable for our use, UWTSD received funding from ‘Cynnal y Cardi‘, an Axis 4 Leader Project which is funded by the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013. This in turn has been funded by the Welsh Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. We are most grateful to Cynnal y Cardi for awarding this funding to the University, and for all their help in the progress of this project. We are also grateful for the help given by the staff of Ceredigion Museum.

Within the museum will be a Tourist Information Point, which will help the town to promote itself, and the surrounding area, to visitors
